Originally from Columbus, IN, Otto relocated to Bloomington in 2009 with his wife Melissa and 2 sons.

Obtained a Bachelor of Science with Distinction from Indiana University in 1995, with a major in Biology and a minor in Business.

Member of Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Societies Received a Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University in 1999 and is currently a practicing orthopedic surgeon, specializing in orthopedic trauma and hand and micro surgery, with IU Health Southern Indiana Physicians.
